SoftBank has reportedly sold Boston Dynamics to Hyundai

Well... Let's hope that's actually a GREAT thing for the future of these awesome robots.

One thing's for sure, Boston Dynamics just did not belong any longer with their previous-previous owner, Google (who sold them to Softbank). SoftBank, a Japanese company was a way better fit, in terms of passionate commitment to robotics, as compared to the directions Google is going recently.

But, alas... SoftBank seemed to lack a few key additional qualities, resources, expertise, and "umph" to take these robots to the next level.

So... is Hyundai the 3-Times-The-Charm savior here!? Who knows... but Hyundai might just be the next powerful and robotics-related company to hit that level. I hope!
