These sort of situations, where you're having a conversation with somebody and you text the person you're talking about, make me cringe so hard.

Something similar (as in it's the same general situation) happened to me in college. I was telling my friend about how me and a girl were getting kinda flirty and it seemed like things might be going somewhere. He asked me who it was, but I didn't want to just blurt it out in front of everybody else at the table, so I went to text him the girl's name. Instead, I texted the girl's name... to the girl.

At least that one was pretty easy to play off, because it's not unusual to say someone's name if you want to get their attention, it's just unusual to do it via text message. Her reply was just "Yeah?," so I didn't even have to try to explain it.
