I sold Trump $100,000 worth of pianos. Then he stiffed me.

I don't think I am. The way this man describes it, the 30k was pure profit. He doesn't seem to be claiming that he actually ended up selling the pianos at a loss.

I would think if he sold these pianos for a loss, he would have directly said he lost xx amount of money on the pianos or at least said he ended up selling them for less than he paid. He never says that at all, go read it again.

You are the one assuming he lost money on these pianos, and you have no basis for doing that. Common sense says that if he actually lost money, he would have directly said so.

But if I was going to make assumptions, what if this pianoman was selling these pianos for 100k and most other stores sold them for 75k? What if pianoman was milking trump and trump realized he got taken and then simply forcefully negotiated down to a fair price? That can't actually be ruled out. Going back to the fact that this 30k was going to be pure profit, it is possible the markup by this pianoman was a scam in itself.
