Some Blind People Can Still See, And Their Brains Could Help Explain Consciousness

My friends’ go-to answer. His retinas detached his freshman year of college and despite 12 surgeries attempting to correct it, he went blind. He then went to a school for the blind and now uses a cane, can read Braille, is on disability/is legally disabled and is fully fucking blind BUT he can still text and play certain video games and loves watching movies on his laptop.

He just has to get suuuper close. To text, he holds his flip phone screen under his sunglasses, probably an inch or so from his eye. No clue how he reads it, but he does. He has that T9 keypad so well memorized that he can then just hold his phone by his side to reply lol. It’s incredible to watch.
