Why do some Christians think women are inferior to men?

It's called being a cafeteria Christian: you bring your tray to the buffet and you pick and choose what you like, ignoring what you don't like. In other words, you personally decide what is right and wrong, what is true and false, because you know better what to do in our "modern times" and the Bible has a "best before date" after all, right? It must have expired by now.

If you pick and choose then just put the book in the bottom drawer and forget about it. It serves little purpose if you can already use your own sense of right and wrong, your innate sense of empathy and justice, as you do when you select which parts to follow and which to ignore. You may still be a good person, but understand what is happening.
