Why do some men do this? Leave things at the last minute?

No he doesn’t. HE wanted to swim though. I didn’t force him to. And sorry but I take birthdays seriously. As well as weddings, and anniversaries.

The standard date night? Or office party? Show up late I don’t care. But not for major events.

Imagine having to explain to your child that daddy is 40 minutes late for your baseball game because he’d rather play video games at home. What message is that sending to your kid? To everyone?

Being legitimately late because of a car accident, construction, getting lost, etc? Excusable. Being late because you wanted to play video games until the last second when you had ample time to get ready? Inexcusable.

I’m a gamer too. I don’t pull this stunt. I save the game and start getting ready hours before. He doesn’t. He starts 10-20 minutes before when our son and I are about to head out the door and he’s like “wait for me!”
