Some nasty people are mocking Mike Pence because he prayed to God for help with the Corona virus.

He's not giving HIS opinion on the matter, he is very clearly using the medium to ridicule the opinions of others. Sorry for yelling, but IT'S A CARTOON and cartoonists don't use their cartoons to give their own opinions, they use them to hold the opinions of others up to the light.

I am pretty familiar with webcomics, comics, and satiric storytelling, in general, and this is particular strip, to me, did not read like a representation of what the cartoon's characters believed so much as what the creator believes about gender. In other words, if they truly did not intend it for the message to be anti-trans/tone-deaf on gender issues, the delivery was awkward and ineloquent, IMO. From my perspective, there was not a clear separation that made the creator's opinion and his lampooning characters' perspectives distinct.

As far as the user names go, this is an alt, and I'm pretty happy with this name for now, so I'll (probably) keep it. My primary account I use to mod several subs, and I try to keep it as "clean" and "professional" on that account as possible and only post in subs related to my subs, so as not to draw any negative attention to it from people who want to dig through my user history and what not. I created this account with the desire to be more vocal about certain opinions (and I was itching to join the r/atheism conversation again after being absent for a while).
