I have some questions regarding buyouts and the recapture penalty in the comments.

I'm gonna answer to the best of my knowledge, I am not a cap expert, but my basic understanding is as such. Haha, I don't wanna mislead ya homes. 1. Not the same thing, the recapture is set based upon his actual earnings over the course of the contract, not the remaining money/years when he is bought out. 2. I'm not going to try to answer this, I thought it had something to do with averaging the money left but re reading what I thought was the answer muddied the water for me, 3. We already have Weiss on the books for a while, buying out too many contracts would result in a horribly mismanaged cap. It would almost be smarter to eat the contracts and let them play them out if we can't trade them away. This is situational, 4. Stash him on ltir for his back problems, so he doesn't end up a cripple and we get rid of the cap hit completely. 5. No. We're a team in transition. Our 3rd/4th liners (for the most part) are our most talented kids that are waiting for the old guard to retire or have their role diminished, sprinkled in with vets there to show them the ropes and our own collection of valued role players. (Glendenning mostly, miller recently, helm before he was moved up, etc.) 6. No. Actually the isles 4th line are essentially permanent 4th liners. They're very good at what they do, and they're paid more than your average 4th liners. (Even though they play as much as your average 2nd line)they're essentially the grind line when the wings were loaded with superstars. They're making pennies compared to the people ahead of them, but they're still well paid, well respected, and highly valued. The play time was probably due to Blashill being new and wanting to maintain the playoff streak and not trusting the younger guys and grinders as much as the top 6/9 rotating mainstays.
