There was a superhero MMORPG that my entire family used to play. It was called City of Heroes, and me, my brother, my dad, my stepmom, even my aunt and uncle all played it. The entire family would often log on and play together.

One of my strongest childhood memories is sitting with my dad on the coutch and making my first character on his account. A supervillain covered in spikes, with two hooks for hands and a fluffy white cat on her shoulder. I don't remember her name, but she commanded robots.

Played it all the time for about five years.

They suddenly shut it down forever in 2012, so the company could "realign it's focus".

I remember the last time I logged on, I logged in with each of my characters to sort of "say goodbye".

Still miss it.
