Has someone ever challenged you to something that they didn't know who are an expert at? If so how did it turn out for you/them?

Me: Be in the army, new unit. Only thing this unit knows about me is what my job is. And that I'm supposedly a good at the 2 mile run.

Young LT( lieutenant) loves fitness. Is actually really strong and fit. The whole unit is asking how LT is going to do on the fitness test. He says he is going to get a 300 (100%) and beat me in the 2 mile run.

Fitness test comes. He get 100% in push ups and sit-ups. Gets 100% in the run but I beat him by something like 2.5 minutes give or take 10 seconds. Which is close to a half mile. I ran track in college but this was me at 25 lbs heavier than I was in college and not running 50 miles per week.

Full disclosure I'm not even kind of fast by collegiate athlete standards. I'm pretty slow. My best event was the 1500m. Personal best is 4:09 my best mile is 4:27 and my best 8km (4.96mi) is 26:52
