Honestly I’m from Van and I don’t know if I’d help. I wouldn’t have a broom or equipment on me, I wouldn’t know if they had extra, are we putting the garbage right back in the bin? Or somehow directly to the truck? Was the bin broken? Is it helpful if I make little piles for them or if I attempt to pick it up by hand? Is picking it up by hand super awkward because I’m not actually contributing in any meaningful way?

I’d have a million questions, and be totally unsure of myself the whole time. It’s like playing hockey with the pros, no fucking thank you.

These are all the thoughts I’d have if I came across this situation. So, I’d probably just avoid it tbh. I’d come across as an ass perhaps, but it’s really the anxiety holding me back.
