He is not a conman according to many people. These people fall under the category of those that never scrutinize any detail or advice given by him. The idea is to always fact check everything. But his records and material property are enough evidence to convince anyone except his followers.

He sold a foot print of his for 2L. He has 2-3 helicopters. He plays golf frequently. He promotes pseudoscience about consuming mercury and arsenic. He prices his courses at a cost of 5K per session.

Now if there is any Guru or any such figure, they would try their best to sway away from materialism. But this guy has literally rebranded the very definition of materialism.

I did a meditation course from an Ashrama near by called Vedanta society.

They charged me 200Rs. They provide free meditation courses to people below poverty line. They have books priced at 10Rs or 20Rs about spirituality. They have weekly projects where they provide food to starving people nearby. They have done a lot more at a lot less. I am not trying to broadcast anything over here nor am I trying to endorse these organisations. I am just asking you to look at the very differences.
