Something I noticed in Voyager series.

For a crew stranded on the other side of the galaxy, they wasted a lot of energy. If I were the captain, first I would’ve closed the holodecks because they’re most likely a power hog. Also, a lot of the characters we've seen lived alone in large, luxurious apartments. I would’ve assigned bunkmates to everyone so I can close decks that we don’t need. This way, at least half of the crew quarters could’ve been shut down, to save energy. The same could’ve been done with the replicators. Keep the essential ones, in the mess hall, engineering and infirmary and close all the others.

Also, instead of fighting with most of the species you encounter, make deals with them. Let’s take the Kazon for example. All they wanted was replication technology because they were starving. I see the danger in giving them replicators but what about protein resequencers? That tech has been around for centuries “back home”. Teach them how to build them and trade that knowledge for fuel and other things Voyager might need.
