Something I HAVE to get off my chest about the tubblrinas saying you can't judge their health by looking at them.

I'm a dentist and I can say there are many similarities between my patients' mentalities and fat mentality. The number of patients in denial about their teeth is staggering. They come in with rotten teeth and gum disease and ask for whitening and then get super upset when you basically say no and explain that there are more urgent things that need to be treated first. Sort of like a fatty with Type 2 diabetes, high blood pressure and osteoarthritis who attends the doctor to ask for a rhinoplasty referral or something stupid like that. In addition, they deny personal responsibility for the state of their dentition. They spend most of their lives neglecting their oral health and then all of a sudden it's my fault for not fixing their problem RIGHT NOW. Sound familiar? 'Fat-shaming doctor won't fix my condishun!' Oh god and then there's the patients who clearly don't fucking brush or floss who are all 'yeah I brush twice a day!'. Sounds a lot like hams who claim they exercise and eat well. The evidence just does not reflect what they say.

I think there's an epidemic of people just washing their hands of any responsibility. It may be linked with an increased narcissistic culture brought about by social media? 'Nothing's wrong with me, it's everyone else'. By the way, all my fat patients have fucking disgusting teeth because they consume a diet conducive to cavity formation. The other day a 21 year-old came in for several extractions and we were actually concerned she may break the dental chair because she looked very close to the 140kg limit. We couldn't place stitches because her cheeks were too fat (buccal fat pad). So not only was she at increased risk of infection purely from the obesity, she was further at risk because the surgical flaps couldn't be stitched together. Gosh what am I saying, I wouldn't particularly mind if natural selection took her by way of infection anyway.
