Since it's Hinge, I may have some possible insight: Selective seeding. It's when the dating apps themselves create fake profiles and have employees/hired offsite workers to engage with members (assuming you're a guy?) to give them the sense that the app working, and then ghost them before the conversation goes in too deeper. I've been getting a lot of these as well, and keep in mind, it's cuffing season when apps experience more users and are trying to keep them on:

- Vague job title/industry
- Hometown left blank or uses a major city?
- Political affiliation left blank
- Vaccination status left blank
