I do sometimes miss the authenticity that we had on previous shows.

Big brother was a bit before my time, but I agree with you about how standardised and fake Love Island is. I find the episodes to be so formulaic and boring, which isn't helped by the fact that a lot of the islanders adopt the language of the show on arrival, so even the discussions all sound the same. It wouldn't be so obvious to me if I hadn't recently watched seasons 1 to 3 for the first time, which were much less structured and more authentic.

I do wish that there was more spontaneity, for example, every other comment is someone saying so and so is going to do x in casa Amor. Like, casa amor was once a genuine suprise twist and now it's another part of the show that contestants and the audience can prepare for.

This will probably be the last season I watch. It had a good run but the best years have long gone.
