i feel you. it's a really unique piece and a disquieting ending. weirdly I've never thought to look up what waffenspiel actually means: google says "A lengthy or extravagant speech or argument usually intended to persuade...To talk or say (something) at length or extravagantly."

unless he's talking about the whole album it doesn't strike me that this piece in particular is very lengthy or extravagant---if anything it's very kinda "minimalist" in a sense. and the bit of dialogue that proceeds it on the album seems to be about how the need to understand something---or convince---can actually sap us of our strength, or the strength we can take in music. What does anyone else make of this? The only thing I can take from it right now is depressingly nihilistic, considering what sounds are in the piece itself
