The problem with Playstation studios is that a lot of the studios aren't talented. Bend, Sucker Punch, Polyphony, Pixel Opus etc several others, most of these studios are mediocre at best.

The biggest problem is that they only make movie games, they can't make anything that isn't a movie game because they simply lack talent. When they try to make something that isn't a movie game you usually get a complete disaster of a game ei Killzone, Gran Turismo, Destruction All Stars etc

Playstation simply doesn't have the money to invest. They WISH they can buy Square Enix but they aren't able to drop 14 billion dollars like that, they just don't have the resources to not just buy the company but also they lack the infrastructure, plus they'd have to bring on all the employees, pay them, benefits etc

I fear for the future of Playstation, with by far the weakest first party and the inability to make any massive purchases, studios like House Marque aren't going to tip the scales in their favor
