Sony Sued For Not Honoring Warranty Agreements on Defective PS5 Controllers

It isn’t Sony’s fault after Microsoft announced their launch Sony had to launch theirs regardless.... /s

It is weird that Sony had been dropping random images /videos around the PS5 to create hype way before Microsoft started a public console launch trajectory. Seems Sony made Microsoft accelerate their launch projections with all the PS5 teasers but then Sony wasn’t prepared for the magnitude of Microsofts response.

The issues I hear about the Xbox Series X seem to be people that are signed up as an Alpha or Beta tester. People that have only been in the program for a few years, perhaps they joined for the perks but didn’t realize work was required.

The PS5 having specs or features listed on the box that weren’t actually there yet seemed ridiculous(how is that legal. The PS5 controller is expensive on its own, sure it isn’t an elite xbox controller expensive but at least those have a year warranty that can be extended. I haven’t heard about any mass issues with them either.

The PS5 controller stick drift, randomly draining the controller battery even when my console is off, and how about when the controller disconnects the menu comes up... who thought it was a good idea to keep registering the last directional movement when the controller disconnects. Trying to get a replacement over the phone that takes over an hour if you’re lucky enough to connect to a person before the support line closes. If I’m queued to speak with someone from support and it goes past supports business hours I expect the chance to schedule a callback via a phone program not to end up on a dead line.

Sorry for being negative and ranting. Sony needs to admit there’s a problem. I don’t know if it’s how stuff has been shipped, the design, the fabrication process, or even the fact that the box might have spent hours in -30 temperatures as it at least spent a couple of hours at that temperature while on my doorstep.
