Sorry folks, Austin ISD Starts Monday enjoy your last day of (somewhat) easy commutes

Hmm.. Thanks for addressing a fraction of my concerns : )

  1. You lived here forever and haven't noticed any seasonal difference? Uh, pay more attention to your surroundings, please..

  2. It is annoying whether you live 'near a school' or just happen to live wherever children -and their parents- live (everywhere..?)

  3. You frequently drive through "3 school zones"? Really? Without saying "I don't believe you", do you have any alternate routes that can bypass one or two of those schools? I used to live so close to a high school that I heard their marching band warm up from my bedroom and yet I still found a way to go to work and return home without dealing with 10-minute 4-way-stops and unnecessary high school junk (

My short commute to work these days is not affected by young drivers across three disparate campuses, but rather by young parents and their shitty driving habits - like coming to a complete stop (from a 60mph road) -or maybe- to make a right-hand turn out of an impossibly slow-moving parking lot queue..

  • Oh Mah Gawd, slowing down from 30 to 20 is not worth complaining about.. It's a good straw man, but my problem referenced is slowing down 60mph roads to 35 when no person ( no student!) ever crosses it carelessly; if you want to cross a road, use the crosswalk; the light; the infrastructure - that's what I knew my whole life..

The whole point of the post was to be prepared for scholastic transpartation. No matter the schedule of the busses, if I leave home early, I can bypass the school buses and THE FACT IS THAT IF I LEAVE 10 MINUTES EARLY I MAY ARRIVE 15 MINUTES EARLY,
