That's a case by case thing. Even in Gen7 some megas had normal entries like M-Slow being comfy in his shellder or M-Pinsir not touching the ground because it was very happy about being able to fly, also Let's Go entires were good as well, yes some were still edgy like Gengar but then you have stuff like M-Evo making Pidgeot and Venusaur more fit, ZardY becoming stronger by the power of friendship or Gyarados being able to be in check if it trusts his trainer. I think it depends a lot of the mon and even then Dex entries can still be bull, let's not forget Magcargo being hotter than the sun, Excavalier flying quickly in the air or Raichu getting an alola form because of pancakes.
