Much like what Malcolm X preached. He would often say that he is a victim of white racism, and that Black Americans were too. He would very boldly state this and also condemn white society's actions, saying they are the root of the oppression.

However, he would also say that because it would be near impossible to get white society to change, (and this was his criticism of MLK and similar activists) that Black Americans needed to stop waiting for the white man to change, stop "begging" him to give black people opportunity, and take it upon themselves to form their own businesses, create their own economies, support one another, open their own schools, etc.

Having an opportunity to ride either on the front or the back or in the middle of someone else’s bus doesn’t dignify you. *When you have something of YOUR OWN, you have dignity. But whenever you are begging for a chance to participate in that which belongs to someone else, or use that which belongs to someone else, on an equal basis with the owner, that’s not dignity. That’s ignorance. *
