The sous vide update no one asked for...

Update 2:

I let the milk go for an hour. I pulled the jar, gave it a shake, there was some brown goo floating in it that looked like reclaim. I decided the milk was most likely done. I put a small strainer over a coffee and poured the milk into the strainer. I then transferred the parts back to the jar.

I decided to run a pipe cleaner through one of the omnivap condensers to see if there was any goo left. There was a ton of it. I ended up stirring the pipe cleaner in the tepid milk and then sucking on the pipe cleaner. I repeated the same process with the other condenser with the same results.

The whole process at that point was so frustrating I didn't see a point in taking any pictures.

The only thing I've learned from this experience is that 185F is not a high enough temperature and/or an hour was not nearly sufficient.

I said fuck it and tossed the remainder of some decent black coffee from earlier in the day into the milk and chugged it. I'm sure I'll get the feels since there was a substantial amount of reclaim.

I ended up cleaning out that jar and rinsing the parts off well. Then I chucked them back in the jar with some iso. I'm letting it sit for 20 minutes.

Unless I encounter some nonsense, I imagine this will be the final update.
