South Dakota Senate Bill 49 Seeks to Gut Rights of Transgender Athletes from Participating in Sports

I respect your opinion, definitely. What sports are you in? Because a lot of Olympic and world-class cis-male athletes are on testosterone and you cannot replace years of hormone therapy — which (as I say again) increases muscle density, increases aggression and competitiveness, increases strength and speed and recovery time — just by stopping your juice a month or two or three before real competitions. It does matter, and if you were not athletic as a youth that’s your deal but a lot of rejected people still push through and become athletes.

There’s just a physical barrier that gender has trouble compensating for, the simple fact is that not all trans athletes are alike.

If we let petite women into the NFL we would see problems with this performance. Similar comparisons can be made for any case.

The science and data is not all there, and until it is I don’t think the exception should become the rule. There are a lot of good kids who hope to compete against those similar to them, and adults as well.
