So the actual facts and statements shouldn't be said? That in a war of such scale that it would be, the north is unable to inflict any massive damage the likes of which we've seen in other major wars. The North Knows this and knows the conflict would actually end rather quickly and all they would have accomplished is a large scale terrorist attack essentially.
If your goal in war is to make the other side surrender, destorying their economic capacity in the process, setting them back decades by the need to rebuild infrastructure, setting up an entirely new government, etc, then NK fails miserably in any conflict. You also didn't quote that I said "horrible", I could use a bunch of allusions and synonyms if you'd like to make it sound even worse.
Do you understand other countries read and use reddit?
Who doesn't? What is the point of that. Talking to people I know who live in South Korea are actually the ones very quick top dispell the entire "turn seoul into a sea of fire" rhetoric that mostly comes from western media when talking about the threat of the north, as if they have this giant gun to the head of the entire country. They know it would be an unprecedented loss of life for a modern western nation, but it would not be the end of the country. that shouldn't be an excuse to actually attack them by any means, and there's much more China (really the only ally the north has left) can do in regards to de-escilation. I still say the best option for major change is China letting Kim, his family (whatever's left as he's killed most of it) and his top Generals/politicians leave the country and live in exile in China. Give some Rommel-esque story about how they left being heroes or he had some sickness he bravely fought and install some new person that slowly turns the country towards openness over the next 20-30 years.
That said if it did ever come to military action the North Knows more than any how little damage they would be able to inflict to create some sort of negotiations to save themselves, which is why it will never come to that.
