His post also contained the following words:

One particular evening, my roommate said he’d pay for a night of bar hopping for me if I agreed to let him taser me once.

I agreed.

At the end of the night I was good and drunk, and ready as I ever could be to be tasered.

He then threw me for a loop.

“Oh I’m not gonna taser you tonight, it’s gonna be down the road at the worst possible time when you least expect it.”

Years went by and I figured he’d forgotten.

Last time I saw him was about 2 years ago, just before lockdown, and we were talking with a group of friends about cops tasering people.

When there was a lull in conversation, he leaned in close to me and whispered “I didn’t forget.”

I wonder at what particular life achievement he’s going to drop me. My wedding? A child’s birth? Or perhaps, my death bed? Only time will tell.
