"Speak LANGUAGE, this is COUNTRY!"

In diverse, multi-cultural English speaking societies, some people don't actually speak English well. Also, it may not be just white people assuming that someone with a different background doesn't speak English.

White people are an easy target for everyone since people on reddit communicate in English. But if you go to non-English speaking countries and are look like you are from a different background, people are going to assume certain things about you as well.

People need to stop being so sensitive when words are not meant to intentionally hurt and give people the benefit of the doubt. You can call it microagresssions or whatever, but it actually makes you seem aggressive when people are just naturally curious and want to learn about each other. If we were kinder to each other we would learn more about each other and be more accepting rather than constantly pointing the finger and fostering animosity.
