Speaking as a White Male…

I don't let people being patronizing stop me from finding the truth

So being patronizing is condusive to finding the truth?

The more important point here is whether or not implicitly making such a declaration through the phrase "as an x" serves any purpose at all in that regard, because then a little patronizing could perhaps be tolerated. But, as far as I can tell, it's nothing more than a roundabout way for someone to suggesting that they're already correct based on nothing but their own subjective opinion. The fact that one's gender can contribute to their subjective experience doesn't erase all the other factors that can still lead someone to the wrong conclusions.
