Problem is that not having a medbay on your multicrew ship makes player multicrew even more of a hassle. Whenever someone dies, you and the 4-5 other guys have to spend 20-30 mins or more of playing taxi service to pick up whoever died at the next medical facility.
And why? Because CIG makes such weird design decisions. I mean, they make profession ships that specifically and only can do one thing at a time. Like a medical ship.
And they promise immensely deep profession mechanics.
Ultimately though, you end up with a med pen, a med bed that respawns and heals you and a heal gun (as they showcased).
And the entire profession is threatened and all med ships are rendered almost useless if you put a med bed into all bigger ships and allow acess to "healing guns" to all players.
That's the problem when you have a game designed around such niche professions.
In other MMOs you have classes with a complete set of skills and abilities. None of them are threatened by giving everyone the ability to revive other players.
