[Speculation]Has the Idris been further expanded?

Again, it has never been said that the Idris is not for 8-10 people. It's likely it still is.

The 350r was a dedicated racer, again, imaging scenarios based off specifications instead of role is going to end in constant disappointment.

We don't know how many crew it takes. The stats were updated with the new size, they did not take this opportunity to update the max crew, if it needed one.

If you don't want to buy ships that change in their development, don't buy concept ships. They change. The aurora was finished. The 350r is the only real exception you brought up and it's minor, and if they aren't in line with their original goals for the ship they're willing to improve them. See the Connie, the Cutlass, and now the Avenger and the 3XX.

You also have a bit of misinformation because of Max Crew. You can operate a Starfarer with 2. You'll have to run between some stations when you want to interact with those specifically. For example, if I add a turret to the bottom of the Freelancer that looks great, who will be mad? It's an extra role, not required to be filled, and doesn't change the ship unless you want to use it. The Starfarer gained functionality at the cost of nothing, if you want to use that functionality. It's just the fleshing out of systems. The Merchantmen in Max Crew includes security guards, and other fancy things. It's not done yet though, so we still don't know what we'll end up with. The reality is, to simply move a ship you only need a pilot. You lose functionality you cannot man though. You'll lose the functionality of a gun, or a engineering station. Or the Starfarer's refueling arm. But you can also run between them when you need to use it. These questions get asked a lot because people are worried when they bumb the Max Crew.

The Idris doesn't say anywhere it needs more crew to man. They already said the reason SQ42 uses 72 NPCs is to make the halls feel alive. Like random people sitting there training, painting walls, repairing things at all times, sleeping, taking breaks, shifts, etc. You can easily, easily arrive at 72 NPCs with 10 men always crewing. Naval ships of the same size have 500 men, and there aren't 500 stations to man that's for sure. The Idris is still said to be a small carrier, like it was before. Not a Javelin.

The only real thing you know, that you can complain about on the Idris is aesthetic, it's gotten beefier. And size. It's gotten longer. The rest we don't know, or we don't know for sure. The max crew is 10 until someone from CIG says otherwise. If you worked on a ship, I'd want to man a turret for maybe 8 hours a day. That's 3 shifts per station. 30 crew already. I can assure you, most people will want to man an Idris with as few people as possible. Everyone has a ship, more or less. Better to have them flying around you then cooking a meal inside your ship, or cleaning the floors, or whatever the extra crew on the Idris in SQ42 do.
