Is speed neurotoxic like meth?

Way to go stating the obvious, but don't worry I was not going to so you are not going to hear it from me. Yes neurotoxicity is a catch all term, but what it means is actually very simple. It means toxicity in the nervous system so the term is pretty self explanatory, and that is what I meant when saying it. I really don't think that should have to be explained. I actually did say to what neurons for the drug OP specified, but as you seem to want more detail, meth causes decreases in DA and 5-HT tissue content and decreases in DAT and SERT expression. Long term meth abuse can cause partial loss of DA and 5HT systems in the striatum, hippocampus and cerebral cortex. The neurotoxicity of MDMA is serotonergic as is 4-CA neurotoxicity. Do I need to go into mire detail or was that enough? You are wrong about MPH. It lacks potential for DA neurotoxicity. https://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/m/pubmed/9365033/ MPH is actually neuroprotective. It protects from DA meth toxicity and possibly from parkinsons as well. May I suggest you check your facts before you call someone out who actually knows what they are on about. Many people on this sub do not, but some of us do.
