Spellboost to reduce card cost seems too open to abuse and kinda plain, would like to see alternatives like pumping a follower or unlocking an additional effect be viable

Stacking Spellboost is an inherently broken mechanic.

It's either undesirable to overstack (Expel Soul) or too easy to cap and bring no further value (Summon Snow).

At the end of the day the only Spellboost cards that see play are either those that reduce their own cost or have a potential to rack up infinite damage.

The sooner they rework the mechanic and retroactively change all related cards the better.

Making it a binary effect that reads "Spellboost is active if you've played a spell this turn" would give much more room for designing impactful cards without making them broken or useless based only on the effect of Spellboost.

This won't happen, though, because Cygames has no courage to go against the Japanese playerbase which apparently adores those solitaire jerk-offs like dshift or Doroshi.
