I have spent around 1000 pounds of my fathers money

I’m assuming you’ve been spending money on micro transactions in mobile games? Those companies are evil, they prey on addictive personalities and use psychological tactics to get your money. If the bill was racked up on iTunes, it’s unlikely that any of the total would be a result of hackers. Unless you’ve been downloading really sketchy apps and using in app purchases, it’s not something you have to worry about. You could always access the bill or purchase history to double check (can’t remember how to do this but I know it’s possible).

It’s hard to say from a reddit post, but I’m going to say that your dad already has a pretty clear suspicion that you’re responsible for the bill. Parents are very good at reading their children, and him quoting that line to you just seems like an unlikely coincidence. I’m guessing the quotation is meant to say “half as bad” rather than “twice as bad”, which would make more sense and is usually true for most cases.

As you’ve said your dad is quite a petulant individual, I’d think carefully about how you approach this with him. Think about how you’ll explain this addiction in a way he’ll best understand, and how you plan to remedy it. You could say you’ll get a job to help pay off the bill? I don’t know your age/financial situation, but something along those lines seems reasonable. It’s not good to keep secrets from your parents, especially something like this which amounts to theft and is causing your dad a great deal of stress.

Btw you write so well, but don’t use paragraphs? Is English a second language to you?
