Splitter Personal Statement Review

Thank you I appreciate it.

Personal Statement I have always been fascinated with business. The structure of our government and how it has been shaped to handle the variety of situations involving the field of business is especially intriguing to me. This interest has led me to pursue a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, a master's degree in Accounting, a CPA license and entry level accounting jobs. After my Graduate studies, I passed the four parts of the CPA exam and started my first accounting job. My first working experience was a three month internship with a public accounting firm in Fort Lauderdale doing governmental auditing. With this job I gained a greater understanding of what the working life was like; working everyday in a team setting, developing as a professional by building on specific knowledge, focusing on important tasks affecting clients and other members of the communities and learning the basic skills required for the accounting profession.
Shortly after my auditing internship, I came across a wonderful opportunity to work in the tax department of a much larger and more established CPA firm in Boca Raton. I started working in April of 2015 and have been working there ever since. At this job, I work closely with successful CPAs including my mentor who has 10 year of experience in the tax field. I have had the privilege of working with and learning from three intelligent partners of the firm each of whom have been working as tax professionals for 30 years and are all very successful in their fields of expertise. Working with the firm, has led me to develop a passion and a more detailed understanding of taxation, which is the type of law I would like to specialize in.
After working at my job for some time I have discovered a real interest in taxes and I want to develop a career involving the tax code and helping individuals with specific tax matters. I have realized that an understanding of the tax code is a valuable skill in today's world because while almost everyone is affected by taxes most people do not understand the mechanics required to decipher many tax matters. My career thus far has provided me with the knowledge and tools required to be an accountant, though, I am eager to become fluent in the law which will enable me to dive deeper into the field that I am already very interested in.
I plan on focusing my studies to encompass estate planning for domestic as well as foreign individuals. Estate planning for domestic and foreign individuals is a prominent field in South Florida and I have spent some time working with these types of cases during my work experience. Going to law school will provide an excellent opportunity to be surrounded by knowledgeable peers sharing similar goals and a desire to pursue meaningful futures. To grow as a professional with other young individuals is a key reason for my desire to attend law school. I plan on taking full advantage of opportunities to grow, learn, and network by being active and participating in extracurricular activities including public interest groups, study groups, community services, centers, and other activities specifically useful to further enable career development. I plan on pursuing my JD and a Masters of Law in Taxation. Along the way I hope to enjoy my time spent and become an ideal alumni of a highly accredited university. With the support of family, friends, peers and mentors I have strong aspirations to accomplish these goals many others along the way.
