There are many arguments in favor of retirement with regard to fighters who have just lost. I can argue Whittaker is probably better retire, because his chin may be shot after those wars with Romer and the KO loss. A fight with Gastellum is highly likely to destroy his chin completely if they fight, which may very well happen. A fight with Cannanonier is very likely to end similarly. But it doesn't mean that he has to retire. Yeah, Rory's instincts may not be there and he may not be willing to die in there as he used to, but if he chooses his battles right, he can win against lesser opponents of which there are MANY and just enjoy the money now that he has name recognition.
