I’d agree competiveness doesn’t really affect playability but I never said it not being competitive would be why this card isn’t widely played. It’s a 3cmc do nothing for a round. It’s also pretty dependent on your opponents to do anything other than tap for a single mana. The only comparable card I can think of off the top of my head is worn powerstone and it’s definitely not an auto include by any definition of the word. Sure this has more utility than WP but a 3cmc “pay 3 and sac this to destroy target land” or a 3cmc “pay4 and remove target attacking creature from combat” are still much much shittier than the same card that takes up a land slot instead

In budget decks this might see wide play but even then you’re better off taking a signet or talisman most of the time because at that power level you won’t have access to the good utility lands. In middle of the pack decks you’d rarely want to include this because, like I said earlier, there’s much better 3cmc options that will reliably perform.

This could be a fun card for very casual decks or niche decks that focus on utility lands. A lot of the time it’s just going to be a manalith that enters tapped though.
