(Spoiler extended) The problem of truth and choices, of the showrunners, in House of The Dragon

I do not completely agree with everything you said, they had choose a version of the story in the end, but I think that the core difference between Hotd and Fire and Blood or the aosiaf books in general can be found in this two quotes. Stannis: "We do not choose our destnies. Yet, we must do our duty, great or small we must do our duty". Rhaenyra: " We don't choose our destiny Luke, destiny chooses us" They wanted to make Hotd a Shakespearean tragedy, wich has its values, but it took agency from the characters. I think that the worst stuff is Alicent not being aware of the coup, I mean they could have soften it maybe making it look like she knew about the coup, but didn't thought they would kill Rhaenyra, but in some way she has to know, she planned this for years. The dragon thing with Vaghar and Arrax can make sense, while the scene with Rhaenys is there just for the drama and it's stupid
