[Spoiler] Fnatic vs Meet Your Maker / EU LCS 2015 Spring Week 7 / Post-Match Discussion

Considering that there are no unions in e-sports yet and players are ridiculously underrepresented on the legal side, I feel like spiting is the only sensible thing you can do to show discontent with your employer. These are young men, in the best years of their life, trying to live their dream by working every hour they are not sleeping and yet they have worse working conditions and representation as people in the 1900s. That's the first point I want to make, even though we haven't talked about it yet. H0ro needs legal help first and foremost because if he gets that, he can keep his career and get out of the trouble that is MYM. I heard /u/snoopeh is working on establishing something similar to a union for e-sports players and I think after this fiasco it's high time.

Since there is no real legal support for players yet, H0ro basically has the choice of sucking it up to keep up his dream or fuck the people over royally who are threatening his family and probably tank his carreer with it. I would do the latter. That's the kind of person I am. What H0ro will decide to do remains to be seen and whatever he decides to do, I wish him best of luck.

You are right, other organisations would probably be hesitant in picking him up again but there were other "notorious" players who managed to get back into the scene again and again, regardless of what they did. And honestly, at least H0ros position is understandable to a rational person. He has been a good kid too, when there were no life-destroying problems for him.

What the org did is hard to justify, but so is trolling out of spite. That's pretty immature

You know what is worse than throwing a hissy fit at a million dollar company that takes the liberty to fuck people over whenever they want? Threatening people's families. Again, I'd say fuck the carreer if the carreer consists of young people getting fucked over by experienced and scummy companies and go back to a "regular" life. I understand how hard it is to turn back on a dream you achieved so much with already but you have to know where to draw the line.
