His UFC career was getting outclassed by Cowboy, beating 1-5 UFC free falling Gilbert Melendez and Anthony Pettis in the middle of a 1-4 free fall, both by split decision. Then he beat RDA in what was honestly a puzzling way. He went on to 1 more guy who isn't top 7ish now and got pooped on by Conor.

Of course every will be able to counter that argument with "HURRR CHAMP" but consider even 1 of his 3 split decisions going the other way during that streak and he's probably not cracking the top 5. 3/4 biggest wins of his last 10 fights are split decision nods and the other one was a guy who was so unhealthy at 155 he said he'd rather fight Usman than a 155er.
