(Spoilers All) Why Catelyn Stark is a good person.

I dont have time to write a new post so im just going to repeat what i said in the thread the other day. I want to make it clear that i do not think cat is bad person. nor is she the saint you guys seem to think she is,the point of asoiaf is to write about human nature, which is very rarely ever black or white. grrm has explicitly stated all of his characters fall into a grey area. SO I think grrm created cat to illustrate what a life of privallege can do to someone. if you look at cats character prior to agot shes had a relatively easy life. born the good looking eldest daughter of a great lord, shes then married to another great lord (whos one of the kindest in westerns), she then never has to deal with the fertility problems that palgued many people including her own sister. her only issue is having to raise neds bastard, which given the time period is really not that terrible, and we can see how she reacts the first time anything in her life did not go her way, she was incredibly petty and directed much of her anger towards jon rather than ned. the fact that she has never once reffered to jon by his own name is in my opinion a terrible way to treat a child who has to grown up in the shadow of his true blooded siblings, while also having to deal with the lack of a mother. Dont forget that the second ned leaves for kings landing she refussed to let jon stay at winterfell she did this knowing jon would have no where to go but the nights watch. i think we forget that jon was only 14 and would be up any hope for having a normal life. could you imagine having to deal with that as a freshman in high school? The fact is cat is so wrapped up in her own hubris that she cant recignize any of her own faults. she consitently ignores robbs commands and is a huge detriment to his war effort. her initial capture of tyrion and release of jaimie were terrible events for her family, and we saw that she was so wrapped up in being right that she didnt think about the repercussions. The situation is so ridiculous considering she released her sons ATTEMPTED MURDERER in the hopes that he would rescue sansa and a rya?? Although cat is obviously not an evil character i think grrm, wrote her in order to demonstrate how a lifetime of privellege can lead to terrible selfishness and incredible hubris
