It was supposed to be the "embodiment" of saidin somehow. Frankly, I know about as much about it as a novice. *Gaidal Cain (Birgitte's lover) was also known for his "hideous" face. Shortly before Birgitte is torn from the land of dreams, she says that Gaidal must have been reborn, but she had no idea when. Olver matches the description. As for surviving, I am sure his "uncles" kept him safe, and he is a hero reborn. *The Tremalking people thought that when the sa'angreal lit up, that it was a sign to "wake from the dream" and leave this world. Other than that, I have no idea. As far as the placement of the statue goes? It was made before the breaking. It almost sounds like she couldn't be reborn because Rand/Lews was holding on to her.
