[Spoilers All][OC] Weekly Headcanon Prompt

Jaime do not believe in “fight and gain redemption through it”. For in his opinion, those who commit crimes that warrant death need to be executed instead of grant them chance of redemption, and hell if they somehow made it, absolution. When those scums killed innocent, have they ever bother to give those innocent victims a single chance of survivals? Did those grey wardens who killed the divine ever offer a chance to the divine? Did the grey wardens ever give the people of thedas the benefit of doubts of their action before they decide to launch this mad plan? No, they judge people of Thedas unwashed masses unworthy of the truth for they must be too stupid to understand; so they will do it on their own.

So yeah although it will not do to kick out all grey wardens for the world would one day have need of them, to simply forgive them because of they will be needed in the future is also unacceptable. For, if such hideous crimes of their can be simply pardon like that because “we need grey wardens to fight the blight”, it will further emboldened the grey wardens and further encourage them to do similar things, for what’s the worst that could happen? People will always have need of us, whatever screw ups we caused, no one will think of eradicating us because that’s essentially doom the world and haha only we can save the world

So that’s why Jaime decide to not exile the grey wardens but nevertheless still essentially decimated their ranks and executed many of those who are guilty of individual crimes.

Needless to say “Blackwall” is not pleased at all and they argued about this heatedly. With Blackwall claim Jaime has no right to judge and kill an order who have done so much good to the world, and that he should not forget it was hero of Ferelden, a warden that saved the world from destruction. Which Jaime retorted by saying that I have meet warden Cousland before and I guarantee you had he been there he will kill each and every last one of those at Adamant, no chance of surrender will every be offered, for they who come up with that and try to destroy the world re unworthy of any mercy. Jaime further scowled Blackwall that Wardens has rest on their laurels long enough, that they see only what they have done to the world to protect it, and not the evil they commit against the world now, and since the past has passed, current reality is more important than heroic actions of the past. He in the end warn Blackwall that while I keep on tolerate you at my side because you have been useful and not guilty of any of their crimes, you should see to it that you do not speak for those criminals again.

And later when Blackwall’s true identity was exposed, Jaime was understandably enraged. So great was his rage at Blackwall’s lie, he specifically asked the executioners to execute Blackwall alongside those two former soldier Blackwall try to save. For although they were soldiers under his command whom “merely” killed women and children following his command, they are still guilty for doing the deed in the first place, and order or not, some actions cannot be forgiven or pardoned under the name of order. So Blackwall and his two soldiers are no less guilty, all scums who deserve to die.

Save for Blackwall, the inner circle nearly agree on Jaime’s action universally. With Cassandra and Vivienne most of all, praise Jaime for keep the wardens on a leash and be somewhat useful but not allow them to get away from it, which is the action of a true leader.
