[Spoilers E109] It IS Friday! Episode 109 Live from GenCon live discussion

I have a few RP characters, not related to DnD, that are just as old as VM's characters and I have retired others who slogged through the same Hells and Heavens as them....so I know the feeling. It's the feeling you get when a good story comes to a close and you know it's the end...but not quite. Even when things are final and "this is how it just is" is chiseled into stone to be sealed away, there's a meandering wanderlust to go back and do it all again and see if you'd still make the same choices. Sometimes you stay stuck in the past for a bit but eventually you move on and that wanderlust carries you forwards to strange new worlds and new final frontiers. That's what will keep Vox Machina alive, their spirit and stories will live on and we will see touches of all of them in the new characters that they all create and the adventures that they have. We'll hear echoes of them throughout the coming years and tell stories to each other of their deeds. It won't be a sad thing, it'll be a happy thing...we will laugh and smile and reminisce and we will remember how they made us feel and how their actions shape the course of our own lives.

I don't consider them heroes though, not one bit because sometimes heroes do that stuff. Sometimes they alter things and change the flow of a kingdom or a battle or the day to day lives of a commoner but they eventually fade into myth and legend and vanish altogether. Heroes come and go so often in this world that they barely register in history...they're not really worth mentioning because they are what everyone aspires to and tries to be like. What Vox Machina is, who they are....I don't think "hero" accurately describes them and what they've done, the impact they've had in game and outside of it. The marks they've left on history both intended and accidental have I think lifted them to a level that's a bit higher than "hero". At this point, they're basically gods....

And Gods, Live Forever.
