Azor Ahai could be done in a much more interesting way.

Hear me out… in the show, Jon technically fulfils the prophecy but in a completely different way. He fails to temper his sword in water (Night King Beyond the wall and his sword has fallen by the water) Then fails to temper it in the lion (Cersei) and finally success in tempering it in his true love, (Dany)

While this still doesn’t technically make sense ie. the sword never actually goes in water, he kills Dany with a dagger etc. I thought it was a great idea for Azor Ahai to actually save the world by preventing a mad Targaryen starting an evil dragon dynasty that brought ash and darkness to Westeros for a thousand years. A ‘Long Night’. If the WW ended up being the red herring it would blow my mind.
