[Spoilers] First impressions: episode 01 of spring 2015 anime series [Discussion]

I won't tackle sequels because they're not new series in my eyes. If anyone's interested in my opinion about them (kek), reply and I'll do it. These are all my opinion, of course. The titles are as they appear on MAL.

Arslan Senki - I liked the first episode, since it sets up a very interesting conflict in Arslan. Also, it looks like a serious fantasy (i.e., not a harem), so I'm definitely watching this one.

Denpa Kyoushi - First episode wasn't all that great. The animation is average at best, but Kagami has potential to be a better MC than most.

Dungeon ni Deai wo Motomeru no wa Machigatteiru Darou ka - This is a battle harem, so I'm not expecting much, though I'm a sucker for this kind of show. Bell is your typical dense shounen MC, but this time the object of his affections is impossibly far from him, in the figurative sense more than the literal. The action was good, too. I'm watching this one to the end.

Etotama - It was different from what I expected, but not in a bad way. The MC is... he actually reminds me of Shinichirou in Isuca if he were a little more quiet and apathetic, which isn't a good thing. The premise is interesting, though.

Gunslinger Stratos: The Animation - The episode was good, but not memorably good. The action was goog, and Tooru seems like he has potential to be a good MC. The ending of the first episode is what really hooked me up, more than anything else.

Hibike! Euphonium - A music anime, based on concert band competitions. I expect to be amazed by the music; concert band arrangements are spectacular, and it's a niche genre, if you could call it that. I like Kumiko more with the hair down, fite me irl

Houkago no Pleiades - I wasn't expecting this to be a mahou shoujo. It's very colorful, and I liked the first episode. Subaru reminds of Yuuki Yuuna somewhat, which I think is good... the whole show reminds me of Yuuki Yuuna, btw.

Kekkai Sensen - Best action in the season so far. Leonardo Watch has a lot of potential, and the story and setting are extremely interesting to me. I'm definitely watching this one to the end. Also, Shinpachi, Hijikata, and Katsura.

Kyoukai no Rinne - It was a very standard introductory episode. It surpassed my expectations, though they were low to begin with. This one deserves to be watched for at least 3 episodes, considering it's 2-cour.

Mikagura Gakuen Kumikyoku - I thought Kangoku Gakuen was airing this season instead of Summer, so you'll imagine my disappointment when watching this show. However, Eruna is one of the best MCs from the first episodes, and looks like we'll get a lot of shenanigans in this show.

Nagato Yuki-chan no Shoushitsu - I'm counting this one as a new show, since it doesn't have anything thematically similar with Haruhi... until now. You can really see the difference from this show to the original from the get-go. I expect this to be Haruhi gone full SoL. This first episode made me laugh a few times, but mostly at references to the original, so let's hope it finds its own pace fast.

Ore Monogatari!! - It was great, and one of the best first episodes of the season. Takeo is a great guy. If it continues as the first episode, this show will be amazing. And hey, it's 2-cour too!

Owari no Seraph - Great first episode, too. Yuu was a little annoying as a kid, but I expect that to change in time. The premise is very interesting, too. The climax of the first episode was brutal. It's a promising show, at least.

Plastic Memories - I like the themes explored in the first episode, which is a glimpse at what we have in store for this show. Feels from the first episode, though... It's going to be hard watching this show.

Punchline - Yuuta, the MC, goes SSJ when he sees pantsu, to the point that he can destroy the world. Throw ghosts and time travel into the mix, and I expect a lot of silly fun from this one. The animation and art style was great, imo; lots of colors.

Re-Kan! - A supernatural SoL. It wasn't a great first episode, but it wasn't extremely bad either.

Shokugeki no Souma - Food. Porn. It's a mixture of both, really. This one is to be watched for pure enjoyment only.

Show By Rock!! - The CGI was great. It's not an AOTS contender, but it's good to kill time in the relatively empty day of the weekend that is Sunday this season.

Takamiya Nasuno Desu!: Teekyuu Spin-off - Counting this one as new because it's a spin-off, but it's in the same vein as Teekyuu, so if you enjoy Teekyuu, you'll definitely enjoy this one.

Triage X - Action and tits. An MC with a dark past, revealed in the very first episode. The premise seems interesting, though, and the action was great. I mean, high school students who are secretly assassins, killing criminals for a living? Yeah, sign me up for that.

Urawa no Usagi-chan - This first episode really felt like the beginning of a standard length episode. Not much happened, so I can't really say much.

Vampire Holmes - It's bad... very bad.
