[SPOILERS] My thoughts about mgsv's ending and if i got it right ...

there were different ways to approach missions but every mission was an exact copy of the other, "kill __, extract __" - the game was repetitive, and this is whats getting a lot of the hate

the cutscenes are incredibly lacking and most fans tend to feel the disconnect while playing jack - because theyre actually playing medic, who's much less verbal than big boss and it really fucks with the story while playing. it makes sense that hes essentially silent throughout the game in the grand scheme of things, but for that 150 hours before getting to #46 it really felt empty/lazily done to play as "venom" believing he was jack.

eli (the child) was a scarier villain than skullface (the genocidal XOF commander) and eli got written out ¯_(ツ)_/¯

kojima didnt hide deeper 4th wall breaking submeanings inside of their already extremely convoluted plot. venom snake doesnt have jack's memories because we were "there with jack the whole time" or some other stupid 4th wall breaking nonsense, it's explicitly stated in the game that medic went through extreme mental therapy to make him think he's venom, and in the process he got all of jack's memories. venom had the same "abilities" not because of 4th wall breaking, but because he also went through extreme physical therapy to have the same body mass as jack - combined with the exact copy of jack's brain and you get jack's abilities. it's definitely a gracious nod towards the hardcore fans, explaining MG1s big boss - but that was mostly it. kojima couldnt add more because konami fired everyone that was spending too much money, they're planning to make MGS into a mobile franchise. its the reason chapter 2+ is just hardmode chapter 1, all of kojima basically got fired halfway into their game and had to cut loose a lot of content.

thats why DJ Khaled should be president kappa
