[SPOILERS] Is it really so surprising...

Maybe what you should question is why the show, which does interviews and psych evaluations (supposedly) and background checks, and is around them 24/7, casts and keeps so many problematic people. Including the "good" ones meant for Hannah. And not why Hannah, who can't even insta-stalk them and only spends a few hours with them, is obligated to give them roses and have 1-on-1s because it's part of the show.

And I'll go back to 1. and say we don't have the backstory of that relationship. We know she was going 100 and he was 25 but this could mean she was ready for marriage or long-term commitment and he wasn't. We don't know. Did he cheat? was he abusive? (I doubt he was abusive because she speaks well of him even now, and she said he's in another relationship and they're very happy and healthy... abusive people don't change or become healthy all of a sudden ), or was it simply that they were young and he was non-committal and she was carrying the load....? We. don't. know.
