[Spoilers] This scene is what I think of every time someone says "I think Person XYZ will end up on the throne."

This was such a stupid line. I hate when shows get "self aware." Or recognize what the fans think they like them for instead of what they really like them for. Game of Thrones isn't about happy endings or bad endings. It's about grimness and indifference, not death and torture.

Characters we love die not because the world is cruel and it's not fair. They died precisely because the world is fair. Had Ned not trusted an enemy he would've lived. Had Robb not betrayed an ally he would've lived. It doesn't matter that they're the "main characters" of the show. The world is grim and indifferent. Not this has no happy ending cause this show is edgy.
