I will forever stand by the statement that Dexter should have ended at season 4. >! Rita's death at the hands of another under cover "family man" serial killer is so profound for so many reasons. The main one of course being that Dexter's Dark Passenger did what he always predicted it would do: get him in over his head and cost him the one thing he always wanted.!<

Honestly the show becomes such a letdown season 5 onwards. All in all I'm glad I forced my way through because I know leaving that content on the table would've driven me crazy, and now that season 9 is going to be a thing the later seasons will definitely be relevant to some extent.
