Spoilers: Star Wars Han Solo & Chewbacca -- Han Solo's father's canon name revealed

If I was part of the story group and was assigned this comic, I would've rejected this when the writer and marvel put it across my desk. That's just me personally. I think that conversation in Solo is one of the best moments in modern Star Wars. It reveals so much about character and explains so much about Han's natural attraction to the Falcon without feeling like exposition or cliche "he had a bad dad" tropey shit. A lot of that comes down to Alden and Donald's performances, sure, but I like keeping as much mystery as possible in my head with Han's birth father. I can imagine that history. And to be fair that's a debate that's gonna be had with Star Wars forever - whether to stay tip of the iceberg or do give a like Tolkien level history on every character and species. And there's no one answer for everyone. Your mileage will vary. But by and large I personally have agreed with divulging the information that has been revealed in the post GL era (how the death Star plans were stolen, how Han got his name, etc) but this just feels like a bridge too far for me. And it could be worse, it could be a full flashback but I feel like even Han saying "people called him" feels like it reveals something about the dude and his potential anonymity that begins to paint that scene in Solo in a different light. And it just feels like internal backpeddling to keep it tip of the iceberg and mysterious when really its just another bullshit Sci fi name and is there to draw attention to this comic that I don't think anyone really cares about. I dunno. I'm sure these topics and conversations were had between the writer, whoever at LFL was assigned to this book, and Marvel editorial but for me personally yeah don't love this decision. That's me though.
